Yawn…I have been dognapping. (I mean snoozing, not kidnapping canines)
You know how you feel the day after Christmas? That is how I am feeling after all the fun I had at work on Take Your Dog To Work Day, last Friday, June 26!
It was fun going to work with my human. And I didn’t just follow her around all day. I retrieved memos, carried office supplies in my doggie saddle bag and even met the other employees at the door. (I didn’t earn the title “man’s…err…human’s best friend” for nothing!”)
Not only did I have a great time, the human’s really seemed to enjoy my presence. They smiled more, laughed and were much more relaxed.
And, best of all, one of my human’s co-workers decided to get a dog herself! She liked me so dog-gone much; she went to the shelter right after work and adopted a mutt just like me! Tail wags all around!

From what I understand, the whistle is about to blow (I think this is a good thing)!
I have learned a lot of valuable things today and I actually was quite productive. I carried sticky notes memos on my back from co-worker to co-worker today. (They seemed to get a kick out of this.) I also escorted the FedEx man into the building and sniffed all of the packages he left to make sure they were appropriate. (Rather, I made sure that we were not receiving any contraband – such as catnip or choke collars.) I even had a copy of my tail made on the Xerox machine.
I love going to work, but after working like a dog all day, I’m excited to get back to my normal life. I’m not sure working for a living is for me, but I sure am looking forward to TYDTWDay next year!
Now, I just have to convince my mom to take me to dinner tonight!!
Let me know how your day went at the paw-fice in the comments section below!
I have decided that human food is better than dog food. Did you know that the 2-legged creatures actually designate TIME to eat their meals? I’m serious!
As a dog, you know that we simply eat when we are hungry or when food is put in front of us. At the office, the people eat their food at a certain time; in a specific room and check this out…they even write their names on their food containers!
And, I discovered that the food is much better than kibble. All the humans here shared their food with me! Please don’t tell my mom, but I couldn’t resist the free handouts. I had a bit of pastrami and rye, a taste of Swiss cheese and a few goldfish crackers!
TGIF!
Here I am – typing (in spite of my lack of opposable thumbs) from my human’s computer on none other than TAKE YOUR DOG TO WORK DAY (TYDTWDay)! Yeah, baby, I’m rocking the office with the two-legged, furless creatures today! And while I’m having fun, there are a few things I have noticed that you dogs may want to watch out for.
There is a device called a FAX machine. It will make an odd ringing sound and then spit out paper. While I can only relate this to Fly-Ball, I highly recommend that you DON’T grab it when it comes out of the machine.
The floors here are super shiny – and slick! So if you have the urge to chase your tail – do it on a floor mat or carpeted area.
Don’t drink the same water that the humans do. (Apparently they don’t like us licking the water cooler.) And definitely stay away from their toilets – the water is bright blue! Use the designated doggie water dishes put out by the two-legged creatures.
Please keep this advice in mind while participating in TYDTWDay!

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! I get to go to work, I get to go to work! (So there, you crazy cat!)
Friday, June 26, is Take Your Dog To Work Day®! I am so excited! (I know what you are thinking - I’m a dog – I get excited…nature of the beast, right?) Well, this is no ordinary “dog day afternoon” and it means more to me than a Frisbee toss or can of Alpo. I actually get to enter the human realm and see what those 2-legged oddities do when they are in the workplace. (Do they REALLY work? Or do they gab endlessly at the water cooler and surf the Internet?) We dogs often wonder what our humans do all day – and now I will have a chance to get the real “scoop!”
Right now I am preparing myself for the event. I have gotten a bath, applied my flea preventive and even had my nails done. (You might call it a ‘pet’icure!) I asked my owner if I could wear some of her ‘bling’ but she thought my big tail was ‘flair’ enough. (I personally think she doesn’t want me to upstage her. But I did find a cute tie in the closet that fits perfect!)
Take Your Dog To Work Day is only two days away, so all of you dogs out there need to get your game on! If you haven’t already convinced Mr. or Mrs. Homo Sapiens to take you to work on Friday, start nagging (and wagging) now. Explain WHY your owner(s) should bring you to work, like…
What are you doing to prepare for the big day? Share your story in the comments section.
I’m back! In case you forgot, it’s Raisin!
I have been busy getting ready to participate in Take Your Dog To Work Day (TYDTWDay), which I just realized is this week, THIS Friday, to be exact! I am a nervous wreck!
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not nervous about going to work with my “mom.” I just really want to impress all of her co-workers, and of course, their dogs too! While my family is asleep at night, I have been feverishly making my way through the Internet, to learn what to do while at work!
And just when I think I will have a leg up on the competition, BAM, I come across this:
